The second General Assembly of the Nordic Carbon Removal Association took place on 2 June 2026, hosted at Vestforbrænding in Glostrup, near Copenhagen. The meeting gathered 35 participants from 21 different member organization, coming from all five Nordic countries as well as from outside the region. During the meeting, the members discussed and agreed the long-term strategy of the NCRA, agreeing that the organization should serve as a system-builder for the Nordic CDR industry.

In line with the Articles of Association, members of the NCRA meet once a year to decide on key organizational and operational matters. The General Assembly also provides an important opportunity for members to meet in person, exchange perspectives, and discuss shared challenges across the carbon dioxide removal (CDR) ecosystem.

The agenda for the 2026 NCRA General Assembly was as follows:

  1. Election of chair of the general meeting
  2. Election of a minute-taker
  3. Approval of the agenda
  4. Ascertainment of the legality and quorum of the general assembly
  5. Auditor’s report for 2025
  6. Report regarding the Association’s work in 2026, including advocacy, membership and budget
  1. Forward-looking discussions on the NCRA 2027 strategy, presentation of 2027 budget and recommendation for membership fees, and presentation of long-term strategy for 2030
  1. Consideration of incoming proposals shared with the NCRA Secretariat
  1. Any other business, including Advisory Board update
  1. Next meeting

The day began with informal coffee and registration, followed by opening remarks from the host, the NCRA Chair, and the Secretary General, setting the scene for a full day of discussions and decision-making among members. The General Assembly morning meeting was followed by a shared lunch and an afternoon session focused on peer exchange and knowledge sharing.

A key part of the program was the “Key insights session”, where members and a guest speaker from Microsoft reflected on one key learning from their experience in the CDR ecosystem over the past year. Through short flash talks and group discussion, participants shared perspectives from across the sector, including suppliers and technology providers, buyers of carbon dioxide removal, MRV and registry actors, and policy and advocacy stakeholders.

The day was closed by a site visit at Vestforbrænding, followed by a dinner in Copenhagen.

The NCRA secretariat and the board looks forward to another year of working together with members to advance the interests of the Nordic CDR industry.
