The first Nordic Carbon Removal Association General Assembly took place on 10 December, hosted by founding member Stockholm Exergi at their offices on Jägmästargatan 2 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Articles of Association of the NCRA state that members of the organization must meet once a year to decide on key organizational and operational matters. The meeting also provided the members an opportunity to gather in person to discuss shared challenges and exchange views on key matters.
The agenda for the 2025 NCRA General Assembly was as follows:
- Election of chair of the general meeting
- Election of a minute-taker
- Approval of the agenda
- Ascertainment of the legality and quorum of the general assembly
- Report regarding the Association’s work in the past year
- Update on 2025 budget
- Presentation of 2026 budget and determination of membership fees
- Election for two seats on the board of directors
- Election of auditor
- Consideration of incoming proposals shared with the NCRA Secretariat by 26 November
- Any other business (including Advisory Board update)
- Next meeting
In addition to the general assembly, there was a site visit at Stockholm Exergi and a session entitled Nordic CDR Connect, that invited buyers of CDR to joined us for discussions on how to support the nascent CDR industry and boost demand for high-quality permanent removals.
It was the first of many NCRA General Assembly meetings to come, with the next meeting taking place in late May 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
